It looks to me like this blog could be great if everyone
of us gets involved.
The pressure is on.

What is up for New Years. Dad and I will be at the
CABIN, Any TAKERS?

My MOM used to cook up ham and beans on New Years
day and watch football. We may do that this year.
Fresno has a bowl game that day and we can not miss the
Rose Parade and Rose Bowl.

If we have too big a New Years eve we will not feel like
waking up for the Rose Parade at 8 a. m.? Some day
DAD and I talk about everyone going to the ROSE PARADE.
Maybe when UCLA goes to the ROSE Bowl or maybe
the "DUCKS" or USC. UCLA will have a new coach,
a new coach, sad, the other coach was not bad, he just
did not get the team there fast enough I guess.

We like to talk about getting all of us together more
often.

We love you all. MOM & DAD

Christmas plans -- 5:00 p.m. on 12/23

Alright, so it looks like the plan is to have a Christmas Eve Eve gathering at our parents' house at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 23. I am glad we were able to find a time that works for everyone! I look forward to seeing all of you then. -Karen

Christmas plans?

Hey guys,

Considering that Christmas is in a week and a half, it seems it is probably about time we figured out whether and when our family is going to get together for Christmas. Since Grandma Bettencourt's gathering is at noon on Christmas day, and it seems many people typically have plans on Christmas eve evening, what are everyone's thoughts on one of the following three times to get together: (1) Sunday evening (December 23), (2) Monday late morning or at lunchtime (December 24), or (3) Tuesday evening after Grandma Bettencourt's (December 25)? Do any or all of those times work for you guys? Mike and I are available any of those times, as are Katie, Darin, and Tyler.

(Also, just a thought -- perhaps in future years, we can use the blog to coordinate dates and times that each of us are available to get together for Christmas. And, perhaps a little earlier next year -- maybe around Thanksgiving??)

Hope everyone's well,

Karen

One more thing about this blog...

One other reason that I think this blog will be great (which I neglected to mention before) is that all of our entries will be archived. Basically what that means is that this blog will forever be essentially a family scrapbook. In twenty years, our kids/ grandkids will be able to long on (presumably by then some of them will be adding to the blog themselves), and they will be able to see how they (and the rest of the family) have changed over the years. In addition to helping all of us stay apprised of what is going on presently in each others' lives, I think it will be a fun way to remember holidays and special events from years past. (I know, I'm a sentimental dork.)

Welcome!!

Hey guys! I keep seeing blogs that my friends' families have created, and I thought it might be fun if our family had one. It might turn out to be a nice way to stay updated on what's going on with each of us, and would be a fun place to post current pictures of what's happening in our lives. We could even post our Christmas wish-lists, favorite Christmas recipes, or anything else we want to share. What do you guys think? Should we give it a try?

I hope all of you are well!!

Lots of love,
Karen
